This recipe is my absolute favorite!! Exclamation points necessary! Soft, buttery and SO easy to make!
AND..my favorite part...NO CHILLING!
Which, If you've ever made sugar cookies, its near impossible to find a recipe where chilling is not required. Enter...this recipe! YAY!
Start by making your dough. SIMPLE.
Roll out on a floured surface.
Cut out shapes using your favorite cookie cutters!
Repeat until you have used all the dough!
Bake at 350 for 11-12 min just until perfectly golden.

Classic Sugar Cookies with Buttercream Frosting
Makes 22 Cutouts
2 cups flour
¼ tsp baking soda
1/8 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp kosher salt
11 tablespoons softened butter
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoons vanilla
1 cup softened butter
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons whipping cream
Preheat oven to 350. In a medium bowl combine all dry ingredients. Set aside. In the bowl of an electric mixer, fitted with the whisk attachment, cream the butter, sugar and vanilla. Add egg and mix well. Add dry ingredients and mix until dough comes together. On a floured surface, roll out dough to ¼ inch thickness. Cut out cookies using whatever shapes you want. Place cutouts on a baking pan lined with parchment paper, 1-2 inches apart. Bake at 350 for 11-12 minutes, until slightly golden on top. Let cool completely.
Make Frosting. In the bowl of an electric mixer, fitted with the whisk attachment, beat the butter on high speed (6) for 4 minutes until butter is pale in color. Add vanilla, powdered sugar and whipping cream. Beat another 2 minutes until fluffy.
